WhatsApp Rolls Out Handy New Calling Feature for iOS Users
WhatsApp is making phone calls even easier for iOS users with a brand-new call dialer feature! The latest update introduces three handy shortcuts, making it faster and more convenient to connect with friends, family, or colleagues.
What’s New?
The update adds a secondary view within the Calls tab, giving users three simple options:
- Start a new call
- Create a call link
- Manually enter a phone number (even if it’s not saved in your contacts!)
This means no more hassle when you need to quickly dial a number or set up a call without saving the contact first.
How It Works
Once you tap the new call button in the Calls tab, a “Call a Number” option appears. Selecting this opens a dial pad, where you can type in any number. WhatsApp will then check if the number belongs to a registered user on the platform. If it does, you’ll see a confirmation—plus, if it’s a verified business account, a special verification badge will appear.
This small but useful feature helps users know whether the person they’re calling is reachable on WhatsApp before they even hit dial.
Extra Perks
Beyond just making calls, this update lets users instantly add an entered number to their contact list without leaving the app. Even better? You can start a chat with that number right away.
When Can You Get It?
The feature is rolling out now and is available in the latest WhatsApp update on the App Store. If you haven't updated your app yet, now’s the time!
With this new dialer, WhatsApp continues to make everyday communication smoother and more efficient. Stay tuned for more updates as the app keeps evolving!
